It’s a calm summer night on a Friday in Melbourne… For now… Metalheads flocked from all sides to the Forum for this stacked Froth & Fury sideshow featuring Soulfly, Nailbomb and Snot.
First up were Snot, who showed they meant business from the first second. A high intensity set full of nu metal, funk, hardcore and pure joy. With the venue almost full already, it was clear the punters were as excited as the band to be here. Vocalist Andy Knapp had the crowd in the palm of his hands, both feeding off each other’s energy and filling the room with that good dopamine.
As Nailbomb took the stage, the mood in the air shifted, as the crowd knew they were about to witness something truly special. A one-off band and album, revitalised 30 years later, the palatable excitement and expectations were met full force by this all-star cast of musicians.
Max Cavalera’s unmistakable vocals are always a wonder to behold live, and coupled with jackhammer-like drums, haunting samples, crushing guitars and pounding bass, Nailbomb’s set was in your face from start to finish. Put best by Max as a prelude to World Of Shit: “30 years later, the world is 30 times shittier.” Amen to that.
Rounding out the night, Soulfly kept the energy high, while bringing their own flavour to the mix. A set full of chunky riffs, tribal drums and a little bit of thrash, Soulfly did what they do best and had the crowd bouncing and reaching for the sky.
Max Cavalera’s command of the crowd was on point, as always, filling the room with electricity, sharing the love and also letting his sense of humour come out to play.

Leaning on the side of the first two albums, some highlights included No Hope = No Fear, Pain, Bumbklaat, and the double whammy encore of Jumpdafuckup and Eye For An Eye.
A most excellent night full of high energy, positive aggression and so many good vibes!
