Melbourne’s dedicated choir for metalheads, Heavy Choir, returns to the iconic Chapel Off Chapel on Sunday, 9 November 2025 with their biggest show yet. For one night only, the 50-strong choir will be supported by a live band, igniting the Chapel stage with heavy metal riffs and powerful harmonies.
Since 2021, Heavy Choir has been on a mission to unite metalheads of all backgrounds through community singing, performing dramatic choral arrangements across the rock and metal spectrum including songs by Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Nightwish, Ghost, Faith No More, Slayer and more.
This special one-night-only event will showcase the choir’s repertoire taking the audience on a gothic-to-dystopian journey through haunting ballads and visceral anthems – and plenty of guitar solos. Along with a joyful ode to one of Ozzy’s most loved songs, they’ll debut a classic Aussie rock anthem and a long awaited tribute to the one and only Dio.
“We are incredibly excited to perform on the Chapel Off Chapel stage once again,” says Emily Stekly, Heavy Choir founder. “Performing with the live band is so much fun for us and our audience – it’s a bigger sound and stage dynamic. We only do this every two years, so it’s a show you won’t want to miss.”
