THY ART IS MURDER are a relentless touring machine and what better way to kick things off in 2023 with sold out shows across Australia for their Decade Of Hate tour in celebration of their devastating album ‘Hate’.

This tour brought together some serious heavy hitters, kicking off the evening was SPITE hailing from the Bay Area of Southern California.

Opening a show is never an easy task, yet with SPITE‘s immense fan base the mosh pit was already heaving.

Following on from SPITE and keeping the energy high is Salt Lake City’s own CHELSEA GRIN. Vocalist Tom Barber introduced the band with a smile moments before they launched in the track ‘Recreant’ followed immediately by the devastating song ‘My Damnation’.

The last support for the evening is the absolute powerhouse WHITECHAPEL. It had been many years since WHITECHAPEL has visited Australia and fans were ravenous to see them play, they didn’t disappoint, opening their set with ‘When a Demon Defiles a Witch’ from the 2019 record The Valley. The set was filled with quality tracks such as Forgiveness is weakness, Brimstone, Black Bear and Doom Woods just to name a few.

Melbourne is the third stop for the Decade Of Hate tour, yet the Forum Melbourne is the only venue that accommodates pyrotechnics, so fans are in for one hell of a show. THY ART IS MURDER always having a sense of humour entered the stage to ‘We Like To Party’ by the Vengaboys. The lights went down, vocalist CJ took his place behind his skeleton clad mic stand and with a huge burst of flames they launched into Reign of Darkness the opening track from ‘HATE’. The celebration of their sophomore album continued with The Purist Strain of Hate’, ‘Vile Creations’, ‘Shadow of Eternal Sin’ and ‘Immolation before the band paused for a moment so CJ could have a chat with the crowd.

Taking a cigarette from his pocket, he asked ‘does anyone have a light? surely I can find one around here’ at that moment a flame opened up on the stage ‘here we go’ with CJ proceeding to light his cigarette. After a quick smoke break, Thy Art got back to it with ‘Infinite Forms’, ‘Dead Sun’, ‘Gates of Misery’ ‘Defective Breed’ and the closing track ‘Doomed From Birth‘.
