Cover shot – HOLIDAY FOR CAMBODIA
In January 2015, The Espy’s Gershwin Room held host to a mini music fest for the ages. ‘Holiday For Cambodia’ was the ultimate celebration of friendship in the face of adversity. In the face of devastating news, bands and punters alike came together to give their mate Cam Ward the ultimate party, as he battled cancer.
This gig was not only a testament to friendship, but the vibrant Melbourne punk, hardcore and metal scenes (including a few interstate guest appearances), which really blossomed in the mid 2000s and beyond. Seeing a number of one off reunions from a number of bands on the bill, including headliners The Abandonment, Synthesist and Picture The End, ‘Holiday For Cambodia’ was a real trip down memory lane and encapsulated such a formative time for so many.
This Saturday night, 15th August, the gig is being broadcast for all to bask in, so grab a drink, get comfy and settle in for a night of audio and visual bliss.
