The Corner Hotel punters hurriedly shuffled inside the band room to escape the cold. This was the second performance from The Oceans headlining tour with special guests LLNN, LO!, and Spook the Horses in what LO’s frontman dubbed as the ‘Worst Bands to Google Ever Tour’.

Spook the Horses graced the stage in what was their second-ever performance in Melbourne. The quintet from New Zealand kicked the night off with a steady melodic force with real flow and powerful growls. Tracks included Liars, The Maw, Inheritance and Brass Orchid.

Sydney’s LO! took the stage. Lead vocalist welcomed the Corner crowd to the ‘veritable post-metal sludge buffet’ that was the evening as they launched into sheer satisfying heaviness with their tracks old track Glutton, new tracks Cannibal Culture, Rat King and a big finish with the title track of their last album The Gleaners.

Danish four-piece LLNN have built themselves a global cult following, Vocalist Victor Kaas opened the set with his performance of ‘The Horror’, stomping on the stage and belting out his aggressive vocals. As the track drew a close the rest of the band entered the stage, they continued to move the audience with a haunting performance of their tracks Imperial, Desecrator, Division and Obsidian.

The Ocean finally arrived on stage receiving enthusiastic applause from their adoring fans, many who were seeing them for the second night in a row. For this show, The Ocean were playing their critically acclaimed album ‘Palagial’ in full. Unlike most shows, where you are left guessing what songs may be on the setlist, fans already knew what was coming and they cheered, screamed and sang along to every single track.
