UK-based metal band Graphic Nature, known for their aggressive contemporary sound influenced by nu-metal and early 2000’s metalcore, have today released ‘Headstone‘, the latest single from their highly anticipated debut album ‘a mind waiting to die‘, due for release on Friday, February 17,via Rude Records.
“Headstone is a track mainly about depression, and how our own mental health issues can lead us to use substances to just feel an ounce of normality,” explains vocalist Harvey Freeman.“Whether it’s prescribed to you or it’s an addiction of some other sort, it can change us in ways we’d often rather not talk about.”
Headstone is taken from Graphic Nature’s upcoming record “A Mind Waiting To Die”
Speaking of ‘a mind waiting to die‘, Freeman says, “We wrote the entirety of the record during lockdown when things were at their darkest. A lot of the lyrical content stems from personal experience and challenges with mental health and isolation.”
One of the most exciting and boundary pushing acts in the world of heavy music, Washington D.C’s Animals As Leaders will return to Australia for a full national tour this April!
Armed with palette-expanding eight-string guitars, rich synths, and pummelling percussive grooves, the instrumental trio is beloved by metalheads, aspiring virtuosos, jazz fanatics, and casual listeners alike. They jettisoned the rules, limitations, and boundaries of conventional rock music from the start to become one of music’s great storytellers, walking the tightrope between sheer technical virtuosity and real emotional resonance. Even without vocals, Animals As Leaders is intimate, mythmaking music.
Formed in 2007 as a solo project for guitarist Tosin Abasi who was soon joined by classically trained guitarist Javier Reyes and Berklee-educated drummer Matt Garstka. The trio began to work on music that was built on a shared love of everything from fusion to technical death metal. The perfect blend of precision and organic feel, Animals As Leaders are almost otherworldly.
From the very beginning the musicians received high praise from the press. Guitar World named Tosin among the Guitarists of the Decade. Rolling Stone featured him as part of their “Young Guns” series, The Chicago Tribune declared him “the closest thing prog-metal has to an Eddie Van Halen.” And Metal Sucks cited him as one of the Top Ten guitarists of All Time! Matt Garstka graced the cover of Modern Drummer for the first time in 2015 and has been on the cover several times since.
Across the bands five albums, which began with their jaw dropping 2009 self titled debut to their latest, 2022’s Parrhesia, the evolution of their sound is paramount. The prog-metal onslaught of the band’s early output gradually expanded over the years with increasingly wondrous shades of melody and immersive ambiance. The band’s diverse catalog plays like multiple seasons of a superb television series, the shows with consistent themes and characters throughout their runs that evolve without sacrificing their most essential elements. “Physical Education” has been streamed close to 13 million times and fan favourites such as “The Joy of Motion”, “Cafo,” “The Brain Dance,” and “Ectogenesis” have equally impressive numbers.
Animals As Leaders offer more than clinic-ready musicianship and proficiency. A focus on mood, texture, and emotive power elevates their music past any preconceived notions, resulting in a fascinatingly unique phenomenon, with an unlikely and profound appeal across multiple sub-genres.
We could sit here all day and brag about how amazing Animals As Leaders are but mere words are a pale substitute for experiencing them live. Their captivating live show is the stuff of legend.
Get in fast as being one of the most in demand live acts in the world, tickets will soon be in short supply!

From the moment Wisconsin Death Trip was released to an unsuspecting world, Static-X stood above. Their industrial alt-rock hybrid “Evil Disco” shook metal from its stagnant state and redefined what can be done with heavy music.
Each subsequent album enhanced and cemented the band’s well earned reputation.
In 2019, founding members Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda and Ken Jay recruited an unidentified mask wearing enigma on vocals known as Xer0 and hit the road to celebrate the band’s legacy, the anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip and as a memorial to fallen frontman Wayne Static.
The love, esteem and respect for the band that give so much at every live show was reflected back to them from fans, critics and peers alike.
“After witnessing the band’s set in NYC’s Sony Hall, you can leave all preconceived notions at the door. Static-X is a wild and crazy good time to be had. An impassioned and unforgettable performance. If you have the opportunity to see Static-X, GO. Don’t hesitate, just GO!” – Music Existence
This May, Static-X return to Australia to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their highly acclaimed album Machine with a setlist that includes a slew of songs from their expansive career; from their iconic debut, Wisconsin Death Trip, through to their latest and aptly titled Project:Regeneration Vol 1
“We are so excited to finally get back to Australia. We plan to play most of the songs off of both Machine and Wisconsin Death Trip as well a number of nice surprises. It’s going to be one for the ages and we can’t wait to get out there and celebrate 20 years of our Machine record while we continue to remember all of the good times that we had with Wayne and to share it live and loud with all of our Aussie fans. It’s going to be awesome!” – Tony Campos
“The signature sound of that metallic, disco thumping, modern metal 1-2 punchy dance beat is well placed in almost every track on here, (Project Regeneration) really is the best of what Static-X is.” The Rockpit
Joining Static-X for the tour are SOiL; pioneers of a sound that gave the world bands such as Godsmack, Spineshank and Mudvayne, SOiL’s influence goes deep. Frontman Ryan McCombs powerful vocals spawned a thousand imitators and they were one of leading acts to modernise rock at the turn of the century…The band will be performing their groundbreaking album. They say time flies when you’re having fun and it’s been a hella epic ride for Sydney metalcore titans POLARIS in the last decade. So, what better way to celebrate than to throw a 10 Year Anniversary Australian tour with their friends VOID OF VISION and PRIDELANDS in tow.
Kicking off on March 3 in their hometown of Sydney and making their way across the country to Perth, the 10 Year Anniversary venues are paying homage to the debut album cycle where they sold these venues out across The Mortal Coil and Spring tours in 2017.
“Where did the years go?! Apparently, it’s been a whole decade ago since this handful of babyfaced kids from suburban Sydney finally assembled a line-up, recorded a demo and stepped onto a stage for the first time as Polaris.” Says Polaris drummer, Daniel Furnari
He adds, “Over the course of the ten years and four records that followed, we worked our way through every community hall, theatre or dive that would take us, sleeping on the floors of vans and sharehouses in the name of metalcore.
Today, this thing we built together has taken us all around the world, giving us the chance to connect with so many incredible people that now all share a role in our story.
Sometimes it feels like we’re just getting started, but as we reach this milestone it seems only right to take stock and reminisce a little about the journey so far. And what better way to do that than with an intimate retrospective tour?! We’ll be reaching right back to our early EPs and beyond to pull out some deep cuts and old faves for the first (and probably last!) time in a long while. Joining us will be our old and very dear friends in Void of Vision and Pridelands, to add some new memories to the many that we’ve already shared over the years. If you were with us back in the day at Blacktown or Sutherland, at Wrangler or the Lab, at Hot Damn or Enigma, this one is for you. You’ve all made this possible and we can’t wait to celebrate our past, present and future with you around Australia this March!”
In 2017, POLARIS released The Mortal Coil, their debut album which debuted in the top 10 ARIA charts and received an ARIA-nomination. It was followed up with 2021’s, ARIA-nominated, #3 ARIA Album chart record, The Death Of Me. They have been awarded a laundry list of accolades including triple j’s Feature Album with both albums, album of the year mentions in end of year lists and have toured across the globe.
It’s been an incredible journey for POLARIS with countless sold-out headline tours of Australia, supporting Architects and Parkway Drive around the country; five runs throughout Europe (including a series of arena shows supporting Architects, a slew of high-profile summer festival spots, Northlane and their first headline tour); four separate US tours; not to mention performing at the Download Festival, Unify Gathering in Australia, headlining Knight & Day Festival and most recently performing the 2022 Good Things Festival headlined by Bring Me The Horizon.
After unleashing the final instalment of the beloved Chronicles EP series, VOID OF VISION have not only left people longing for more, but in tandem increased curiosity and demand for what could come next. In the midst of a UK tour with Holding Absence and an appearance at the inaugural Knotfest Australia on the horizon, the band are poised to return home to continue to take the country by storm.
Melbourne-based, PRIDELANDS kicked off 2022 with the release of their highly anticipated debut studio album, Light Bends which had glowing reviews and landed them an appearance at Unify Forever in 2022 and a national regional tour with In Hearts Wake.
Set those alarm clocks and get those party vibes ready as this is a celebration you won’t want to miss. There is limited capacity and there will be no additional nights added. Don’t say we didn’t warn ya.

THY ART IS MURDER are a relentless touring machine and what better way to kick things off in 2023 with sold out shows across Australia for their Decade Of Hate tour in celebration of their devastating album ‘Hate’.
This tour brought together some serious heavy hitters, kicking off the evening was SPITE hailing from the Bay Area of Southern California.
Opening a show is never an easy task, yet with SPITE‘s immense fan base the mosh pit was already heaving.
Following on from SPITE and keeping the energy high is Salt Lake City’s own CHELSEA GRIN. Vocalist Tom Barber introduced the band with a smile moments before they launched in the track ‘Recreant’ followed immediately by the devastating song ‘My Damnation’.
The last support for the evening is the absolute powerhouse WHITECHAPEL. It had been many years since WHITECHAPEL has visited Australia and fans were ravenous to see them play, they didn’t disappoint, opening their set with ‘When a Demon Defiles a Witch’ from the 2019 record The Valley. The set was filled with quality tracks such as Forgiveness is weakness, Brimstone, Black Bear and Doom Woods just to name a few.
Melbourne is the third stop for the Decade Of Hate tour, yet the Forum Melbourne is the only venue that accommodates pyrotechnics, so fans are in for one hell of a show. THY ART IS MURDER always having a sense of humour entered the stage to ‘We Like To Party’ by the Vengaboys. The lights went down, vocalist CJ took his place behind his skeleton clad mic stand and with a huge burst of flames they launched into Reign of Darkness the opening track from ‘HATE’. The celebration of their sophomore album continued with ‘The Purist Strain of Hate’, ‘Vile Creations’, ‘Shadow of Eternal Sin’ and ‘Immolation‘ before the band paused for a moment so CJ could have a chat with the crowd.
Taking a cigarette from his pocket, he asked ‘does anyone have a light? surely I can find one around here’ at that moment a flame opened up on the stage ‘here we go’ with CJ proceeding to light his cigarette. After a quick smoke break, Thy Art got back to it with ‘Infinite Forms’, ‘Dead Sun’, ‘Gates of Misery’ ‘Defective Breed’ and the closing track ‘Doomed From Birth‘.
THY ART IS MURDER are heading across North America and Europe in the early part of this year, hit them up on social media to check out upcoming tour dates.
