FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY – New single & video ‘Fear Tomorrow’

Cover shot – FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY

During these uncertain times, a lot of industries have suffered, the music industry and many bands you love have been hit really hard. FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY have been so appreciative of the support from their loyal fanbase they have dropped a brand new single and video ‘FEAR TOMORROW‘.

“When our tour was cancelled you came through for us by picking up merch and helping us get back on our feet. So as a way of saying thank you, we wrapped up a new one for you.

“Fear Tomorrow”, like all FFAA songs,is a reaction to the current climate we’re all (literally) stuck in. What have we done that’s brought us to this point, and what does the future hold if we keep repeating the same mistakes? It’s time to take a hard look at our systems and the value we place on a human life. Stay informed, and think about what you can do to ensure things don’t get worse. We’ll get off the podium now. Thanks for listening.” – FFA

The new single is accompanied by a hard-hitting video featuring artwork by Tommy Wilson and edited by Eric Richter.

UNIFY GATHERING 2021 – All-Australian Edition

Cover shot – UNIFY

UNIFY Gathering will be returning in 2021 with an all-Australian lineup!

The lineup is yet to be announced, yet you can read the full statement from the festival organizers below:

It’s no secret that the music industry is one of the hardest hit industries by the current situation, and our hearts go out to the artists, crew, agents and managers that have lost their entire touring plans with no certainty of when it is coming back. This festival launched in 2015 with entirely Australian artists, and we’ve had the pleasure of having pretty much every heavy artist in the country perform across our six events. Now we want to invite all of them back for a celebration of this community and everything it provides. We hope to get back as many artists as we can. We’ll be pushing dates back a week to make the January 21 – 24 weekend in 2021.

In all of this chaos, one message stands as true as ever: music saves lives. It’s the inspiration in our lives and it’s the basis of communities that can band together to survive through tough times. We wanted this announcement out now to declare our intentions, and give the people in our community something to look forward to.

While UNIFY prides itself on connecting with the global heavy music community, it was with the local community of artists, crew, agents and managers that we launched our festival in 2015. In that first year, it felt like most of the Australian heavy music community got together to create one of the most memorable weekends of our lives. At the time, Australian heavy music artists were mostly unable to play festivals in AUS. We launched UNIFY because we wanted to see what it would be like for The Amity Affliction, Northlane and In Hearts Wake to play 40 minute sets at night at a festival. Looking at that lineup, it included many of the bands that defined the next half decade of Australian music, and that poster has become an iconic moment in the history of this community.

We are also aware that Australian artists are right now doing their best to reschedule current dates and look for opportunities that can work once life resumes. As such, UNIFY will also have no restriction on artists wanting to do tour dates surrounding our dates. We also won’t worry about putting through artists that played last year or the year before. It’s not about exclusivity for us, it’s about community.

We will be back with more details soon, but for now please join the event page to stay up to date as we roll out.

Adelaide rockers Alt. are back with their latest track ‘NOTHINGWITHOUTYOU‘. This is the 3rd single released from their upcoming ‘dysfunctional’ EP due out on the 24th of April.

Vocalist Dan Richards explains that the track takes its theme from a toxic past relationship: “nothingwithoutyou is about the moment I realised my relationship needed to end. I felt isolated, unwanted and I was stuck in a state of limbo. TRACE – Debut single ‘WHITE’

Cover shot – TRACE

Two Minds, Two Voices, One Vision, Brisbane’s TRACE have released their debut single ‘WHITE“.

Formed in early 2017, TRACE’s heavy grunge sound is inspired by legendary 90’s bands like  Alice in ChainsSoundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots  but with a modern spin that is crafted/mixed/produced by Branko Cosic (1000HZ Recording – DZ DeathraysThe BelligerentsTape/Off), Chris Arthur and Scott Wade and Mastered by Harris Newman (Greg Market Mastering – Canada).

White describes the feelings and emotions you go through in the midst of depression and the addictive nature of such thoughts as suicide, fear and loneliness. That self-destructive path that leads to nowhere good, or safe – we’ve all been there. Then knowing that there is a light, and that light is within you. You’ve just got to reach out and find that switch because no one is going to find it for you. You can sit there screaming, “I’ve been waiting so long”, to have you scream back “no one waited for you”, or you can go out there and get it!” – Chris Arthur – Guitarist/Bassist/Vocalist

TRACE’s new track ‘White’ is available now on all good streaming services.

For nearly 20 years Bodyjar have built their local & international following with relentless touring their blistering high energy live shows, that have made them one of the most respected punk rock bands in the world.

Big Shot sees Bodyjar calling on all their experience over the years, resulting in strong and politically-charged songs:

” This song is about the lack of leadership on either side of politics and the major corporations that control them. Constantly filling their pockets at the expense of planet earth! ” Guitarist Tom Read

Produced by Bodyjar and Sam Johnson (Northlane, Luca Brasi, Camp Cope, The Bennies) and is the first taste of their full-length record to be released later in 2020.

LAMB OF GOD – New track & video ‘Memento Mori’

Cover shot – LAMB OF GOD

LAMB OF GOD are back with ‘Memento Mori‘ the opening track from their forthcoming self titled record due out May 8 via Nuclear Blast.

Lead vocalist Randy Blythe speaks candidly about the songs origins and its relevance in current global climate.

There is a vast amount of indisputably real and depressingly negative occurrences happening across the globe. Currently, at the forefront of everyone’s mind is the global COVID-19 pandemic. This is a very real concern, and proper precautions need to be taken by EVERYONE in order to protect those most at risk – the elderly, infirm, and immunocompromised. It is indeed a scary time, but in this hyper-connected age with its 24/7 never-ending news cycle of atrocity, outrage and lurid click-bait headlines (not to mention ill-informed lunatics running amok and spreading misinformation and panic on social media), it is all too easy to lose sight of the fact that life is still carrying on, and good things do in fact still happen.”

Months before the COVID-19 outbreak occurred, I wrote ‘Memento Mori’ as a reminder to myself to not be consumed by the omnipresent electronic harbingers of doom that surround us – cellphones, computers, and television screens. While these devices can be useful tools, and it is important to stay informed, it is equally important to remain engaged with the real, physical world we with live in, not just digitally filtered representations of reality. I wrote the narrative music video treatment a few months ago to illustrate how warped and myopic our mental states can become when we fail to remain engaged with that reality – if all you pay attention to is catastrophe, then soon you will begin to see monsters everywhere you look. The actual monsters we used in the video are Sinisteria, a local Richmond, Virginia haunted house/dark performance troupe I met on the street at our annual Krampus Nacht parade. Richmond has a strong tradition of loud music and weird costumed monsters working hand in hand to make salient points (we are the birthplace of GWAR, after all), and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Music has always been there for me, raising my spirits during hard times, and it is my hope that this song’s positive message will do the same for fans of our music right now and beyond. The release date for the tune was set a good while ago, but the timing seems eerily prescient to me now. So enjoy the song and video, and then remember to step away from the screens for a bit – real life is waiting for you. We only get one shot, so don’t waste this day. Everyone be well, keep a cool head, take care of yourselves, and take care of EACH OTHER.”

Momento Mori is accompanied by a brand new video, check it out below.
